It’s time! It’s almost here! Once again the time has come to celebrate the LGBT community big
time, a touristic sector that has turned Vallarta society upside down, that has given it a
tremendous boost and that has created an iconic gay tourist destination on a global scale.
This year, the Vallarta Pride will be held from May 20 th to the 28 th and will offer a huge variety of
events for all tastes, among them, the previous activities before the official celebration such as the
Miss Vallarta Pride, the first open to the diversity of gender contest and the CUIR Contemporary
Art Exhibition, a unique show at the OPC in favor of diversity and art.
And as part of the official celebration of the Gay Pride month in Puerto Vallarta, we have a great
variety of activities that we’re sure you will love. Like the fashion runway in charge of the biggest
names of fashion in Mexico: Benito Santos and MOSMA MODA. Where not only professional
models will participate but in the spirit of including the community, Vallarta locals and LGBT
members of the whole country were invited to participate, like “Las Nativaxs”, who represent the
indigenous people of the Wixarica culture in Mexico.
We will also have the 6K Colors, United by the Colors of Diversity, a 3 and 6 km run race that will
have Los Arcos by the Malecón as a start and finish line and that has a very special purpose which
is to promote cooperative work an creating diversity awareness.
And beyond the multiple parties and events that take place along the Romantic Zone in all the
bars, nightclubs and beach clubs, there is a premium event that is the king of all the celebrations
on Gay Pride, and this is the Gay Parade. An explosion of colors, music and joy. This year will take
place on May 25 th at 4 pm and is open to people of all ages and preferences, a celebration where
we all unite with respect and joy.
This year, the Vallarta Pride has a very special slogan: “Be proud of your nature”. A phrase that
captures the essence of the event as well as our beautiful city’s, it tries to honor the natural
richness of the flora and fauna that lives in the bay, besides pointing out the pride that is felt by
the community for being who they are.
We recommend you to stay at the Romantic Zone, it’s a must to stay on this part of the city since
here is where all the action takes place, and there’s no better place than the Blue Chairs hotel, one
of the most popular hotels and beach clubs of Puerto Vallarta where you’ll be able to drink a
refreshing beer right at the Los Muertos beach, protagonist of the gay party during the day, and
then going up to the rooftop, continue the party and admire the amazing views of the bay, besides
having a fun time with their drag show and sing along to Rihanna, Selena, Beyoncé, Britney Spears
and many more.
You got the hotel, you got the schedule, have you got the spirit to spend an incredible week at the
Mexican beaches?
